Ross Garnaut was asked about 6 weeks ago (I think in the Fin Review in an article about Justin Lin&#039;s appointment) if China could be self sufficient in food. His answer was &quot;of course, its very easy&quot;. They just have to go back peasant life-styles and abandon their high standards of living.
