It should play an active part, as a developing country as it is and should not over commit itself to cause unnecessary damages to itself. It has done many things that caused it dearly in the past and should not repeat them. What China can do and should do is to promote an ambitious, fair and effective global agreement to combat climate changes. That is what China needs to do. China should play neither a spoiler nor a hero in global climate negotiations.
