Kathryn Robinson is Emeritus Professor at the School of Culture, History and Language, the Australian National University. She was founder and editor of The Asia Pacific Journal of Anthropology from 1996 to 2012. Her research interests are Indonesia and Southeast Asia, development, gender, traditional architecture, medical anthropology, Islam, Internet mediated social relations and cross-cultural marriages. Her latest book is Marriage Migration, Intercultural Families and Global Intimacies (Palgrave 2024).

The East Asia Forum office is based in Australia and EAF acknowledges the First Peoples of this land — in Canberra the Ngunnawal and Ngambri people — and recognises their continuous connection to culture, community and Country.
