    EABER

The East Asia Bureau of Economic Research (EABER) is a prime vehicle for projecting East Asian economic research and is coordinated from the Crawford School at ANU.

The East Asia Forum (EAF) brings together Australia’s expertise on East Asia while EABER brings together the top economic research institutes and researchers in the region. Together, they promote dialogue and research on the most important economic, political and other issues in the region and Australia’s position in the region.

EABER provides a single point of reference for the economics and economics-related research community in the region. EABER provides a comprehensive website and virtual hub for the East Asian economic research community, allowing researchers to interact across many locations.

Use EABER as a vehicle for organizing collaborative research projects and programs if you are researching in the region. EABER serves an information and community hub for researchers interested in East Asian economy wherever they are in the world.

EABER has links to key think-tanks and research institutions. Institutes from Japan, China, South Korea, Vietnam, Hong Kong, Cambodia, Laos, Thailand, Malaysia, the Philippines, Indonesia and Australia are part of the EABER network.

EABER and EAF were officially launched in Australia by the then Treasurer, Peter Costello, in the Menzies library at the ANU in Canberra on 17 October 2006. EABER was launched internationally by Indonesia’s Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, Boediono, in Bogor in 2005.

EAF and EABER are both headed by Professor Peter Drysdale
