Thailand aims to finalise a free trade agreement with the European Union by 2025, amid concerns about the European Union's balancing its trade interests and democratic values. The European Union must overcome challenges — including divergences of member states' interests and Thai sovereignty concerns — to arrive at a trade agreement that bolsters Thai democracy while facilitating mutually beneficial trade. This can be done through Thailand and the European Union agreeing to clauses addressing labour rights, environmental protection and good governance.

Voters overwhelmingly rejected the South Korean conservative agenda in the 2024 parliamentary elections. President Yoon Suk-yeol, already a massively unpopular leader, will likely face calls to resign from within his own party amid a potential investigation of First Lady Kim Keon-hee. Despite this, foreign policy will be the one area where Yoon may be able to make some progress. He will likely continue to strengthen ties with Japan, the United States and Europe despite the legislative deadlock at home.
